pathfinder hard to start when warm
my 01 pathfinder started becoming hard to start after it had been running, shut down, and then started again in a few minutes. This occurs when outside temps are warm. i live in new england, so this is a summer thing that started last summer. no problem after it has cooled. two dealers cannot find the problem, and strangely, it hasn't happened when they looked at it. has anyone else encountered this ?

RE: pathfinder hard to start when warm
I just purchased an 01 Pathfinder LE with about 50,000 miles on it in May. I have also had problems with my car starting over the past month or so. The engine will try to turn, but won't get there. After trying multiple times, I will let it sit a moment. Then, when I try again, the engine will start right up. Only, with my vehicle, this will happen in the early morning when it's cool out or even in the afternoon when I try to leave a parking lot, when it's warm (I live in CA).
Mine is at a dealership right now, and neither they, nor my own machanic, can find anything wrong with it. They cannot replicate the condition where it doesn't start.
Also, my engine shut off on me while I was driving once. It shifted into 4WD on its own, then, shortly after, all of my service lights came on, and my engine died. All of my electrical equipment (including my GPS navigation system and CD player) remained functional. When I finally coasted to a full stop, I attempted to start the engine again, and did so with no difficulty.
I was wondering if you ever found out what the problem was with your vehicle, or if anyone else might have any other ideas about what this could be?
