Default real-life gas mileage

I'm curious about what real-life gas mileage other owners are getting in their '96 - '04 Pathfinders.

I get between 16-18 mpg with normal driving in my 01 pathfinder 4x4. I've got a 5x14 utility trailer that I tow 2 atvs on. With the trailer and both atvs I get between 14 and 15 mpg. For me, that kind of sucks...but overall I like my pathfinder (head room excluded)

I have an 01 SE and I get about 14 in town and 19 highway. I only run 93 octain and think that makes a huge difference on performance and milage. The owners manual calls for 91 or above. I would never run that crummy 87 in my pathfinder. I believe the few extra bucks at the pump pays off in more miles per tank and a better engine performance.

Well, I got a 2005 SVE with the 2.5 litre diesel, and I get 34-35 mph if I take it easy and about 29 mph if I thrash it. Diesels rock!!

Unless you have engine knock, regular gasoline is all you need. Regular gasoline also burns cleaner (in the engine). Don't waste your money thinking your Pathfinder loves it.

I use regular and tow ------------ never had engine ping or knock.

I have a 97 SE and it gets 19 every time around town...on the highway, around 21-22.
