steering wheel controls don't light up

steering wheel controls don't light up

I just bought a 2003 Pathfinder, the controls on the steering wheel don't light up. Is is by design? or should I go back to the dealer to fix it?

its probably as simple as just finding a bad fuse.

So, is it supposed to light up?
I went to the dealership and they said it is not supposed to!
I found that funny for a 2003 model.
