Default 2004 Quest SE factory dvd player stopped working

I have a 2004 Quest SE that I bought used in September of 2006 with the factory installed under passenger seat dvd player that I believe is a panasonic brand, but don't know the model number. Well, the dvd player had worked since we bought it fine, up until about two weeks ago. Now whenever I put in a dvd, I can hear a vibrating noise in the dvd player that I had not heard before and on the screen all I see is black and in the upper left hand corner just some white sequence lights/ticks going from left to right as if to indicate that it is attempting to get the dvd to play, but it never does. After about a minute of trying to play the dvd and the dvd player vibrating inside, it final ejects the dvd. I've tried with many different dvd's to see if the problem was a product of the dvd disc itself and I even tried putting in a dvd cleaner disc thinking that it may have been due to debris/build up on the laser (since I had to cleaned since I bought), but to no avail.

Has anyone run into this or have any suggestions on how I can get my player working again? My kids are driving me crazy to get this back up and running!
