When is the No Key Warning Alarm Supposed to Activate?
We have a 2015 Quest S with about 58,000 miles on it. About a week ago my wife was going out of town (35 mile trip one way) and halfway there when all of sudden she heard an alarm chiming. She looked down and saw a warning saying *No Key*! This occurred after she had driven an estimated 16-18 miles and 25+ minutes of driving.
Sho nuff, she looked over at her pocketbook and realized she had grabbed the one that did not have her key fob in it. So, how did she get the car started in the first place? Simple! I had gone out to escort her off with the mandatory kiss (been married 55 years so have learned how to do these things by now), and I had my fob in my pocket! I guess the car couldn't recognize who was sitting in the driver's seat and whose fob it was reading! Well, typical for my sweet thing she didn't bother to call me at the time to advise of this situation (like she should have). Waited until she got back and then loudly proclaimed her displeasure over the matter. So, the question is "How long should it have taken this vehicle to get around to realizing that there was NO KEY/FOB within range? Fearless Freddie |
