1999 Sentra Sun Visors
Hello, I am new to the forums. I just bought a 1999 Nissan Sentra due to the fact that my other car, a 1990 Honda Accord, was flooded out from Hurricane Wilma's storm surge down here.
So far a like this car a lot but bought it quickly because I needed a car and thought I got a good deal for $5,000. It does have a lot of miles at 112,000, but I have been told that Nissans, if taken care, of will last a while. Anyone know how many miles I could expect to get out of this car. I will be happy if I get 2 or 3 years out of it and probably will not be putting more than 10 to 15,000 miles on it a year if even that much.
One thing I am having trouble locating is a replacement sun visor for the driver's side. Anyone know where I can look for one.
I have also heard about how the carpeting wears out quickly as this one is a little worn and the seat fabric seems to be starting to wear. My power window control for the drivers side is also sticking or something, will go down easily but sometimes will not go up but once in a while so I am leaving it up until I know what the problem is, I was told the contacts may need cleaning. Also read somewhere that the radiator fans end up having to be replace devery year or two on the 1999 Sentra. Does anyone have any ideas or knowledge of what to expect from this car.
Just wanting to get and idea of what to expect and what to look for. The car sounds great and runs great so I am hoping that is a good sign that it is a good car that I bought.
Thanks,
Loyd

One good place to look is always the nissan dealer. They can get anything but scince its a b14 model, its going to be on special order which will take a few days to get in stock. But the next best thing to do is stop by your local junk yard and hope for a 95 - 99 sentra to be there and you could just jack those. they will be much cheaper from any junk or salvage yard than anywhere else.

I am having problems with my driver side sun visor. I moved it down and something cracked and now it won't go up. If you find a visor supplier, let me know. I haven't had luck with dealership or with junk yards. I need a grey one and haven't found that color (seems to be popular).
My 1999 has about 55k miles (don't drive much) but I have had the following problems:
carpet on driver side worn out, driver side seat fabric is wearing out; tune up (twice); window problem (see above); sun visor broken; and a starter. Not too bad. [&:]
