Ok, I'm new here so I don't know if this is the right forum, but...

I have a 86 Sentra as my daily driver and you can probably get my opinion of the car from my name. The trans doesn't shift right though, and it really sucks. It's an auto and will shift straight into third as soon as it can. If I manually shift it it does fine, but I don't want to do that all the time.

My car to drive when the weather is nice is a 70 Buick which had a similar problem with a simple solution; the detent cable was broken. So I'm assuming the sentra has something similar to a detent cable, does it or am I way off?
