99 nissan sentra gxe security system
 

locked and unlocked (with difficulty) my car using the remote. then, the car cranked but would not start. waited awhile and locked and unlocked car again, held down gas pedal and car started and is working fine now. if the security system is failing, would the car not crank at all and just appear dead when turning the key, or could the security be failing.

yup!guess so... it just appear dead if that's the case not sure what is the proper remedy for that.

Thanks full house, but I don't understand your answer. Are you saying the security system is failing, or that it's not. are the symptoms of a failed security system when the car "just appears dead". My car has been starting normally since.
