RE: BUILDING A 1.6
Hot Shot makes a turbo kit for the GA16 motor it says it will add 80 HPs which will get almost there and thats with a stock motor. upgade the injectors and add turbo pistons and a good set of cams you should be able to up the boost and get any where from 200HP to 300HP

RE: BUILDING A 1.6
It's possible ... but not worth it .... I would reccomend investing in a SR20 motor... much better platform to build on.

If he wants a good N/A street set up, get a JDM 10:1 motor with C series cams form JWT, Gen6 header, 3 inch exhaust, UR pulleys, 19* timing, CAI and he'll run low 14's all day. And, for higher compression get SR16VE pistons which i think make 12.5:1 C/R |
RE: BUILDING A 1.6
Well going N/A on a nissan motor in general isn't the way to go .... for big power out of a 4 banger get a turbo.:D

RE: BUILDING A 1.6
VVL motors are decent.... but on the average a turbo will deliver more power, faster.

ORIGINAL: Burnnout VVL motors are decent.... but on the average a turbo will deliver more power, faster. VVL motors are more reliable than turbo motors, Some VVL's are running just as fast as DE-Ts I forgot who is was but i seen on another forum VVL motors running high 12's, either way you cant loose. |
RE: BUILDING A 1.6
I disagree with VVL motors being more realiable then turbo motors, it's all in how it's built. You are right on your next part tho, you really can't loose either way..... unless you're in a VVL motor racing a turbo ~:D

RE: BUILDING A 1.6
A DE-T motor will easily lay down some nice numbers even with a little T25 and some 370cc injectors you'll see 250whp, which at one point in time i was going with, i already had the most of my turbo parts... but had to sell them to fund my 5-speed swap in my 200SX, which is now complete :D and has been for over month and i cant complain one bit.
