GA15i ignition problem

I just installed a new JDM GA15 in my 89 Sentra. The problem that I am having is that the distributor is cranked all the way one way to compensate for timing I guess. But the problem is that when I go to set it on the marks it runs horribly but if I set it after the marks (towards the front of the car) it will run OK but not perfect. I have done a complete tune up with fuel filter and everything. I pretty much had to because the car sat for 2 years with a shot engine. So what could be causing this? I know the timing chain has not skipped a link because the motor only has 30-50k miles on it....but it could be possible. It was running REALLY bad until I switched the firing order around and it ran OK but not good enough..it misses here and there. I also just installed a new Accel Super Stock coil in it. Can anybody help?!

RE: GA15i ignition problem

hey i thought is id let you know i just did that same swap. what i did what swapped the intake and exhaust manifolds and everything else on the head and put it on the GA15-B after i got it all together and put it it started rough but i played with the ignition timing and got it to run like a champ. so with your problem if your saying it runs but runs rough, (i had to swap the plug wires, put 1 in 4s and 2in 3s, then adjusted ignition timiming. now it runs like a champ.) i would try doing what i did. i kinda had the same problem untell i did this cause when i tried to start it it wouldnt until i did this....so good luck
