help:the clicking noise when back up
 

when I back up my sentra 1997 with transmission on R band, there is clicking noise from around the front right wheel. Even I push back by my arm the stopped car, it also had such clicking noise. The clicking is regular and sounds at a certain frequency. When moving forward or turning, no problem.

What is the problem?Is it severe? How much to repair it?

Hmm... check your axle boot to see if it's torn.

the sound seems from around the rear wheel instead of the front wheel

got it repaired today!

The hand brake cable was detached and touched the wheel, thus make the clicking noise when backing up the car.(the cable will go forward when the wheel go forward and no noise)

I did not repair the hand brake, for I do not have to use it in my city.
