Default lower ball joint boot - ripped

Howdy Folks :

found a ripped ball joint boot when I did the CV boots the other day

I understand the ball joint cannot be replaced without replacing the lower control arm - I just need a new boot - anyone know where to seek one

Cheers:

I was able to replace the lower ball joints on my 95 sentra but I was fighting to get it out almost all day. I spent about $30 for my ball joint. I have seen a set of control arms on ebay for$100.00 and it's almost worth it to get them just to have security of knowing that you have new parts to easily install rather than beating and banging the old one out.

I have two 95 Sentras, they are both the 200 sx se models. I just finished replacing both lower ball joints today in one of them. I did the other last month. The ball joint units are pressed into the control arms from the bottom side and a clip ring secures them from the top side of the control arm. I removed the control arm assemblies from the car and used a small sludge hammer to knock the old ones out after removing the clip ring. Pressed the new ones in with a 6 ton bearing press and applied the clip rings. Reinstalled them into the car. I have a full vehicle lift so I am not sure this can be done without one. The bolts that hold the control arms to the frame took some real leveage to break loose. My impact wrench would not even do it. To did both sides in about six hours. The AutoParts store I use carries two different types. Both install the same way but one has a greese fitting on the bottom and is only about $10 each with a 1 year warranty. The other is permently lubed like the factory ones where and are $38 each and has a lifetime warranty.
