Odometer flashing oooooo_
 

Our odometer flashes, randomly while driving, a bunch of o's and a _. Looks like oooooo_ It also brightens the dashboard lights when it occurs.

Nothing appears to be wrong. The car starts and runs normally.

I read somewhere else that the interior light adjustment could be faulty. Any clues?
