I have used Mobil 1 in all of my cars since the mid 1970's when it came out and have logged over 800,000 miles of total driving with Mobil 1 and never had to do any engine repairs. I just traded in my 1990 Celica with 240,000 miles on it on our 2005 Sentra 1.8S. At first the dealer didn't even want to take the car in trade until I insisted they listen to the engine. Ended up getting 1,000 for it in trade and it brought 1200- at the auction they sent it to from another dealer. I haven't decided yet on the 2005 Sentra on using the Mobil 1 because the dealer has offered free lifetime oil changes. If they start trying to sell me something every oil change, I will forget them and start using the Mobil 1 again. I would definitely check on the warranty issue and if they say its ok, try and get something in writing. Also I used to get another .5 MPG gas mileage with the Mobil 1. As an aside, I am getting 39.5 MPG in the Sentra on the highway at a steady 65 MPH which I am thrilled with but only getting about 24.5 in combined local driving. What is everyone else getting? Also the Ct dealer I bought my car from is selling 2006 Sentras auto/air etc with a sticker close to 17k for 12,999. I was able to get my 2005 for 11,490 and my Celica so at least in this area they are still dealing on the cars.

You are the 1st person I have ever heard of that got more than the EPA windown sticker rating. 39 is fantastic!!!! I get about 32 at 70 mph and 30-31 combined highway/city.
The EPA rates these cars with no A/C on and at a steady 55 mph under laboratory conditions so I expect my highway mpg to be under the 34 EPA rating because of the higher revving.
With the cost of gas I will keep this car forever so I use Amsoil ATF in the tranny and Mobil 1 in the engine every 5000 miles.
I also have a 1989 Ford F150 with a straight 6 cylinder that I bought new and it has 280,000 miles on it and runs as good now as the day I bought it........nothing but Mobil 1 10W30 since new.

toidsworth, one thing I have noticed about the Sentra highway mileage is that even slight grades will bring the mileage down 2-4 MPG. On the other hand, slight downgrades can get the mpg over 40 for a short time. I am determined to get the highway mileage over 40 but that will be torture since I will probably have to keep the car at 60 or so and really feather the gas pedal. Also run the risk of being run off the road. I hope my city mileage comes up some. I think the extra braking, stop lights etc. is keeping it in the mid 20's but I am working on it. I hear you on the ford pickup. My first new vehicle was a 1973 F100 with 302V8 and 3 speed on the column, traction lock, 3.70 rear. I used Mobil 1 in that too once it came out on the market and I never had engine trouble. The most I could get for mileage though was 16.5 hwy. The motor ran new and never burned oil. Had about 170k on it when I sold it a few years ago.

well no offence to anyone using mobil 1 but i think oil is oil. it comes some the same place the other oil comes from and that is from the GROUND, but to be truthfull if u think u dont need to change the oil at 3000 then that stupid 15000 is so past from dumb its not funny. i work in a bodyshop and right now we are restoring a 69 mustang conv. it has a sticker in the engine bay that says "always change oil at 6000 miles" see thats why motors didnt last back then. but as technolgy is today maybe u could go 15000 miles with out an oil change. but r u really going to remember to change it at 15 thounsand miles? prolly not so that means that then there is gonna be motor trouble b/c of broken down nasty lookin ****er juice in the bottom of ur oil pan( meaning SLUDGE) worst thing for a motor.

I used Mobile 1 Syn. in my last car, 02 Toyota Corolla. Changed the oil ever 5 - 6,000 miles. At approx. 92,000 miles, I was losing a quart every 1800 miles. In addition to that, the engine was making strange noises at approx. 1100 RPM's, ( like a grinding noise). I could see spending some big $$$ on this car and decided to get my Sentra last July. I really expected to get at least 150,000 miles out of that Corolla without any big repair bills (other than normal maintenance).
Long story short, I now use Castrol GTX 5W30 in my Sentra, change it every 3,000 miles. I hope to hang on to my Sentra for a long time, as i really love this car. I hope I have better luck! Just my 2 cents!
