New here, just purchased a used 2000 Sentra with 82,000 miles for the wife. Being the car was purchased used, it didnt include an owners manuel. What weight oil is recommended for the 1.8 liter engine and what is the crankcase capacity for an oil and filter change? Thanks for any info. that can be provided.[sm=thanx.gif]

oil weight iirc either use 10 W 30 or 5 W 30.

most likely it is the 5 W 30 since it is a 2000 model.

 

i agree, but to be certain, there should be a "specifications" section in the owners manual.

DON'T FORGET TO USE BOTH A K&N AIR FILTER AND AN OIL FILTER. I USE MOBIL ONE AND A K&N HO-1008 OIL FILTER IN MY 2001 SENTRA.
NISSAN ONLY RECOMMENDS 5W30 IN THE WINTER AND 10W-30 IN THE SUMMER. INFO STRAIGHT FROM DEALER. SYNTHETIC OIL HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

if it has less than 100,000 miles on it then use 5w-30 close to or more than that use 10-30
