Any suggestions as to removing the washer and c-clip that attach the parking brake lever to the secondary shoe on a B14 Sentra? Tools, pics?

 

ive never seen a special tool for it yet, i just try to spread it gently as possible with a screwdriver or chisel. i say gently because it seems they dont include a new clip with most sets of rear brakes and yu will have to reuse it. if anyone has a source for these clips im sure everyone would be interested in it.if you do ruin it ive used external snap rings of the same approx size to replace it. usually i use 2 or 3 snap rings because they are thinner than the orig clip.

 

At the brake shop they usually re-use the clip.

For the DIY like myself I would purchase a return spring or brake hardware set at the parts store. The set includes a new clip.
