Sentra Project

Hey All,

I was about to drop about 8,000 into racing out the 1995 sentra gxe that I have...... i was at the auto shop to get a few parts before i put it into the shop to get it done. the attendent at the store said that i sould save alot of money and just put a VQ25 engine in it from a 2002 and up sentra SPEC-V instead of the GTi-R engine or a bluebird.......... can somebody fill me in will this work because i have never heard of such...... thanks, BLCKBURR

RE: Sentra Project

Hey. I would not put the QR25 motor in a b14. For one, those motors have many problems. Including wacking a$$ knock sensor and other problems like the balance shaft can really mess up the ride. I would honestly do this. Buy a bluebird or avenir motor and upgrade that. But use the tranny out of the 2000-2001 Sentra's because those can handle up to 350 whp no problem. The older ones can only handle like 250 whp before you start tearing up the tranny. But if you can not find the 2000-2001 tranny anywhere. I would talk to PPG. They have stronger gears for the SR20 tranny. And it will be better geared for racing. Let me know if you have any more questions.
