Default siphoning fuel out of gas tank

I got a plastic siphoning kit at the parts store. There's a quarter of a tankful of gas.

The Haynes manual says to remove fuel cap and siphon fuel thru the narrow opening.

The salesperson at the parts store told me to wiggle the clear hose. It's bumping into something.

Called the kit manufacturer and operator told me there is some sort of ball that prevents the hose from going all the way into the tank to prevent fuel from spilling during a rollover. Is this true with the B14 Sentra?

Are there other ways of siphoning the fuel out of the tank?

Thanks.

you can disconnect the fill up hose that goes into the tank from the fill tube and hook the siphoning kit on there. why do you need all the fuel out?

It's got a little of a quarter of a tankful of gas. It's been sitting there almost 3 months. I want to be on the safe side since I will be replacing the fuel filter and the fuel pump.

Can I check the operatyion of the pump by hooking a rubber hose or small metal pipe to the fuel hose at the fuel filter and into the gas container to see if it fills the container after turning key on?

you dont have to remove that gas it should be fine once you fill the rest of the tank with new gas and gas doesnt go bad for about 6 months or so, you should be fine dont even bother with siphoning the gaslol.
