exterra-2003-shifting into 4 wheel drive
 

I am new to 4 wheel drive. I got my hands on a 4 wheel 2003 exterra. The manual is confusing to me. Someone explain the proper way to shift from 2H into 4H-also 2H into 4L

keep the shifter in neutral make sure you are goin less than 15 mph then throw the 4 wheel in gear

Thank you for your response back in June. I forgot about this--Just a quick follow up. As you stated, if you want to go from 2H to 4H or 4L, you must either be standing still or less than 15MPH. Thats fine. What if you are traveling on a road or highway and you want to shift into 4H or 4L, what do you do then. You can't drop your speed to 15MPH. Thanks for any help you can give me as the bad weather where I live is slowly approaching
