hesitation problems
I have a 2000 6 cylinder Xterra that was running fine before I went on a short vacation (5 days). When I tried driving the Xterra after the vacation, it started hesitating violently around 40 mph after driving for about 10 - 15 minutes. I put some gas treatment in and it continued to hesitate at all different speeds. I took it to a car repair shop, and after sitting overnight, the mechanic took it on a short ride and it did not hesitate. A diagnostic test found nothing and the mechanic could not get it to hesitate. A high detergent fuel cleaner was added to the gas. I drove the Xterra about 10 miles without a problem. The Xterra sat for a few hours, then I drove back home about 15 miles. The Xterra started hesitating and idling extremely rough for about the last 5 miles and it felt like it was going to stall.
Any ideas? Thanks, Alan |
