Hello all,
I just had issue with my brake pedal feeling a little spongy. No fluid leaks. I removed front and rear tires and checked for brake pad wear; the front brake pads are thin on the inside but not much variance from the outside shoe. So, I didn't think any caliper issue. No pulling or dragging of any kind. But when i got the brake parts and removed the rotors I noticed that the inner pad didn't seem to be making full contact with rotor, (was the same on both sides). I've never seen this type of thin wear line before and just wanted to ask about it. After pad & rotor replacement, fluid level went back to normal sight level.
This is about 55,000 miles and first pad replacement. When i removed these it did not have those clips to keep the pads off rotors. Could this have been the cause or is this normal for these trucks? I installed clips with new kit.
I am also going to flush the brake fluid as I hear that can cause some pedal issues. Was last done at 20,000 miles.
Could this still be rotor issue? Both sides at same time?
