2.4L KA24E engine SOHC engine 12 valves

I think there are several versions of this engine out there. I need to know if anyone can identify my engine and tell me exactly which one I have. Perhaps I already have all the info I need?

Is there an identifying mark on the block or head somewhere? Can the engine be identified by my VIN number?

I need to do an engine overhaul and want to be sure I order the right parts. Need to order cylinder head, pistons, rings, bearings, timing kit, etc..
