Default 2005 smoking already?

hello.. I know this question has probably been asked and answered before.. so let me try again

I have a 2005 Nissian Murano and when i start it up it blows out white smoke.. sometimes alot.. it only seems to do it when i start the car and hit the gas the first time.. after that it doesnt do it anymore.. The dealer said I needed a new engine But I know thats BS cause I just drove it 1000 miles with no problems and it still purss.. So any ideas?

I read something about might have to have the rings changed or something?

Please help! a 30000 car with 18000 miles on it should not need a new engine already. I have the six year warrenty and it sounds like they just dont want to honor it.

thanks.

Idk, but whether it needs a new engine or not, it's the dealer's responsibility to make it right

typically, white smoke coming from the exhaust is the result of a leaking head gasket or a cracked head or cracked engine block. Essentially, radiator coolant is mixing with the engine oil and this mixture shows as white smoke after combustion in the engine where it is not supposed to be. Water is atomized by the high engine temps and the white smoke. One way to check for water in the oil is to see if the oil on teh dip stickis milky tan color or relatively clear. If it is an opague tan color then for sure there is water in the oil. Try mixing oil with some water to see the resulting tan color.

As this is a 2005 with 18,000 miles, Nissan is responsible for the repair. If you are not getting satisfaction from the dealer, try another Nissan dealer or call the Nissan regional office near you for assistance. The regional office number is in the owner's manual.

Don't be loyal to one particular dealer...I worked for new car dealerships for the last 15 years. People think that they have to go to the same dealer where the car was bought to have services done. Your Murano has a 5yrs/60k powertrain warranty. Nissan will honor the warranty not the dealer because each dealer is independently owned. Dealers are agent for the Manufactures.

Let them replace a new engine for you.....a new engine is better than one with 18k on it!!
