Default 89 Maxima

Hey there, I have a 1989 Nissan Maxima 3.0 litre V6 auto, recently it started idling low (500 revs cold, and 700 warm) there's not as much as much power as there used to be and doesn't sound as smooth. It came right of it's own accord for a day or so and then went bad again. Replaced air filter, air temp sensor, TPS, plugs but no help.

Any ideas?

remove the black hose and unscrew the valve. it should be bout an inch and a half long or so and around 17mm wide...looks just like a coupler with a small hole on the outlet side...when these go the typical symptoms are rough idle and loss of low end and top end power. and for three to five bucks its a cheep thing to try. any other questions...you know where to post 'em

Wouldn't happen to be this would it, it's the only thing I can see that seems like a valve in that area, I removed the hose from it and there is suction through it, and then I removed the valve and shook it, the ball rattles which I'm guessing means it works?

Also I unplugged what I assume is the Idle Control Valve from the wiring loom and it seems to make no difference...
