Greetings,
I have a 92 Sentra E. The right side high beam is not working although the lo beam is working just fine. I checked the contacts with a voltage meter and it is getting power. It's just not lighting up. I have replaced the bulb and it is still not working.
I did the same diagnostic on the left side and I am getting the same electrical readings but on the left side both high and low beams are working.
Any advice?

there should be two power wires to the back of the bulb. check to see if you get voltage on the high beam power wire cause you said only one side high beam is inop. and you already change the bulb and still doesnt work but the other side does. well the low and high beam both share the same ground so your problem is on the power side. let me know if your getting power on the HB wire or not. and if you dont get it just start following the wire with a test light all the way up until you get power and you probably just have an open wire and you just have to find it. but if both of your high beam are not working i would say to check the relay and fuse for the high beam. get back to me and let me know what you find.

I have checked the HB wire on the inop side and I am getting power. I fiddled with the connection to make sure that it is getting contact, which it is. I am thinking that I need to replace the socket that the bulb fits into. Now the joy of trying to find it online.

did you check to see if you had ground. take your ohm meter with the lights off and backprobe the ground wire of the socket and take the other and go to ground on the chasis or battery and see if you have continuity, if you do then try to clean up the socket with electrical cleaner and see if that fixes it if not then you probably have a bad socket. let me know if you cant find a socket you can probably get one off any car that uses the same size bulb you can probably find a universal one at the part store.
