Engine hesitates when warm in stop and go traffic
When stopped in stop and go traffic and the accelerator pedal is slowly depressed, the engine fails to come up to speed. As the accelerator is pressed further, the engine comes up to speed and the car lurches forward. The same thing happens when we pull off the road, put the car in Park, and slowly press the accelerator -- the engine does not come up to speed normally.
There are no error codes.
Dealers, without taking the car for a test drive, have analyzed it as bad transmission oil or a faulty transmission. Note that the problem happens even with the car standing still in Park.
The car is a 2003 Murano with 97000 miles. The problem has been happening since about 50,000 miles but since we are retired and seldom get involved in heavy stop and go traffice, we have been living with the problem. However, it continues to get worse.
We would appreciate any suggestions on how to get this analyzed and ultimately repaired.
Thanx....
