Default Heater not functioning properly

Hey everyone... I hope someone can help...

My 1998 Quest is having a heating problem... As long as I am pressing on the gas, heat is being generated... but if I am idling at a stoplight or just coasting along in neutral, then just ambient air is blowing in. The fan never changes it's strength, it is just the heat that is no longer generated.

I'm sure there is a logical explanation that I am not seeing.

Help... winter is coming.

Help.is here ..Dear winter is coming;First how fast dose the heat go away? as soon as stopped if it takes a while Thermostat is stuck> OR . Dose the engine, miss . and heat stops fast and a the miss at idle might not be noted . This sound to me that the heater control valve is no reciving vacuum at idle. Possable Vacuum leak. You can spray Carb cleanner to see if the engine speeds up. On some cars the valveing in side the dash will leak from age and need replacing. To test this use a hose placed to you ear and place the othe end near the slide controles as engine is at idle. Also the heater doors will change on there on. I hoped this helps. n6rrj@arrl.net

Check your coolant level.
