1993 pickup, 5 speed, 125K miles.Had a nocrank issue,resolved byreplacing ignition switch about a month ago. Now I'm in an intermittent no start no crank situation. About once in every 10 starts, I have to hold the key in the start position until the truckstarts up. Takes about 2 to 5 seconds for this to happen. Don't hear any clicking from the relays so I thought the problem was still the ignition switch, so I replaced it again but still have the same problem. Hasn't failed to start yet, but I'd like some idea as to what it could be before I have a mechanic start to mess aroud with it. Any ideas?

 

sound like you either have a bad starter or faulty neutral safety switch

 

have you tried the started relay located on the passenger side under the hood in the fender? my 89 pickup 5 speed did the same thing and after i replaced it no more worry's
