I HAVE ONE MORE QUESTION. I LIVE IN BALTIMORE, MARYLAND- WOULD YOU RECOMMEND USING 5W-30 OR 10-40 OIL IN THE ENGINE? ALSO, WOULD YOU RECOMMEND A GENUINE NISSAN FILTER OR A K&N OIL FILTER?
MY NISSAN IS JUST A 2001 1.8L XE, NOT A HIGH PERFORMANCE.

i have worked as a technician, and on a non-performance car, oil filters are about all the same. as for the oil weight, i would stick with whatever your owners manual recommends.

 

I would not agree that all oil filters are the same. Fram filters have leaky anti drainback valves and overall are poor filters. You can't go wrong using a OEM, purolater, wix, or AC filter. K&N filters are probably better but the others are excellent filters too.
