Default Oil leaks common to 3.0 ???

I just inherited a late 90s Pathfinder with an oil leak. Before I start pulling it apart, are there any specific things to check? I'm not familiar w/ the 3.0L engine, is it known to leak? Tom

I have had both 88' and 94' 3.0 liter pathfinders. Both leaked oil after 70k but mostly at the pan. Easy fix. I did have on one my 94' at the front oil seal for the oil pump assembly. Not as easy.

Cam and crank seals go bad all the time. If it's those go ahead and do the timing belt as well. Remember every 60k.

the last two infiniti i30 i worked on had the 3.0 and they both were leaking from the lower oil pan gaskit wich is pretty easy and thet upper and the upper oil pan gasket and the crank seals are common to going bad at high miles but to be sure i would clean the bottom of your engine with brake clean and then add oil leak dye and drive it for a couple days or until it starts leaking and shine a black light at the oil leak and the dye will show you exactly where the leak is coming from.

Looks like we are on the same boat and i am starting to have disappointments with my second hand pathfinder. My bad i was just tempted to buy it because of the exterior looks of it. I just noticed lots of oil leaks happened it was just 2 weeks from now. Sigh. Anyways whether you are active or not thanks for the advice mate.
