Oil Seal Leaking Again

Oil Seal Leaking Again
Hello All. I am a newbie here and was hoping someone can answer a question or two. I own a 2003 Nissan Frontier SE 4x4 Pickup that I bought brand new. After only 12,000 miles the engine crankshaft rear oil seal started leaking. The dealer replaced it under warranty. Now some 40,000 miles later it is leaking again. They will replace under the 60,000 mile drive train warranty. What is making the seal go bad? Is this just going to happen again? Thank you.

these things happen all the time, all parts are not perfect when they build them, so there can sometimes be a defective new part. i would just go ahead and let the warranty pay for it and be done with it.

4x4, you might want to check to see what type of seal they put on it, you might want to change to a heavy duty seal, and re cheeck the mounts if they are to tight and if you are using the 4x4 as an off road check to see if they'll beef up you suspension! other wise it may just be a bum part. good luck
