im hazeyez, and i love nissan 240sx's
sup?
20 year old male from new york here.
i started my nissan enthusiasm last year when i purchased a 1990 nissan 240sx fastback, with only 74,000 miles on it - not even knowing about the beauty behind it all.
i slowly became a nissan enthusiast and was completely convinced that nissan is better than honda in more ways than one, which is a true statement.
ok picture that '90 white 240sx fastback, mint, not one spot of rust on the whole damn thing... 74k miles on it... so much potential... GONE! yes ladies and gentlemen, i swear i will never drive drunk again. it was actually my friend that crashed it who was drunk as well, except the difference was he could stand up and i couldnt. as my car crashed over a big rock, landing on top of someone's front porch - i watched my lifetime hopes and dreams fade away. i punched my friend in the head as he was being handcuffed for his 3rd DWI within a 6 month period at 19 years old. he got his, and i got mine. so now the car sits in front of my house with a bent frame as a harsh reminder to not only drive drunk, but never let your friend that has never driven RWD, behind the wheel of your car. because, chances are he wont know how to counter-steer.
^^^ the stupidest mistake of my life ^^^
but life goes on...
i later purchased a '92 white 240sx fastback with more problems than a sick 109 year old man's body. i asked some kid to look around for one for me, and he turned to ebay. he totally persuaded me into buying this car for $2800. after he convinced me, i convinced him to fly to michigan and drive it back to new york on a suspended license with no registration, inspection, insurance, or license plates. so he gets back here with this thing, i see tein stickers on it and immediately think "ok, not bad" ... tein springs, gr2 struts. turned out to be an auto-manual conversion... it had an 'i love drifting' sticker on the rear window... i knew the car had the **** beat out of it. anyway i worked my *** off for weeks and put a new clutch in it so the thing would be drivable. then i ended up having to put a new steering rack, tie rods, ball joints and all that **** into it... i just got it back a week ago and now the ****ing thing has a valve knock and is overheating. $1000 for clutch installed, and $1700 for the other ****... $2700 after initial purchase, $1100 for 6 month insurance policy... i am $3800 in the hole from repairs/insurance and i barely even drive the ****ing thing.
anyway this is where i stand ladies and gentlemen. here i am today, new thermostat installed and still overheating... praying to god its not a water pump or head gasket... i just want to fix the overheating problem and sell it. it was nice while it lasted but i think i need some time off from my nissan entusiasm so i can save money and do well in college then next year when i have the money, try it all over again.
i would love to take the engine out of the '90 and throw it in a shell with a good frame, but im having a hard time finding one. so i anyone can help with that, id appreciate it.
so yeah that is my story..
final thoughts:
NISMO! yeah baby i ****in love it. i will die before i drive any type of honda!
