!...newbie...!
So as a "newbie" i need some questions answered such as,the ka24det has more torque, but the sr20det has more horse power, but if HP=T then the sr20det should be the beter motor ?.... i just need to know wich motor is beter between the 2! and wich motor is better for drifting?... i would assume the ka24det would be the idiel motor for drifting but im a rookie so. .!

RE: !...newbie...!
both motors are good platforms but if your just building your car for drifting only just boost the ka and get a good lsd diff or weld the spider gears in your open diff. but if you want a motor that has a higher baseline power then go with the sr20 just to remind you the sr20 only has a whomping 50-60 more hp then a ka that can be made by putting a turbo kit on the ka. but if you ka has high mileage and tired then just do an sr20 swap cause most jdm sr20 have an average of 30k-50k if there from a jdm importer. and you will have plenty of power to drift and have a lower mileage engine and it would cost about the same as boosting a ka. but if torque is an issue then you can make you pick out of the rb family and they have alot more torque but the swap is a bit more unless you do an rb20det swap they are about the same or cheaper then an sr20 and have more torque but about the same HP as the sr20 and the plus side is that your car will sound like a skyline lol. oh by the way welcome

i like the ka for a few reasons....theyre cheap and easy to find if you need to replace one, the parts are easy to get and there are companies that make smog legal kits for it. if money isnt really an issue, you cant lose with an rb swap.
