fuel pump fuse keeps blowing
hey,
so the situation is my fuel pump fuse keeps blowing on me everytime i turn the key on since i have swapped out a ka24e for a lower mileage one. before the swap it occasionally blew the fuse but now it blows it when the key is turned on. it blows a 10amp right away. and a 15 lasts long enough to start it but then it burns out and dies. any ideas anyone? i have checked all grounds and they all are tight and look good. and i don't know where else to check  thanks for any advise in advance |
have you check the engine or the motor?Maybe there are some rusty parts...

fuel pump fuse keeps blowing
rnThis new fuel pump that I have requires a 5 amp fuse. Ive wired a relay so that the pump only gets power if the key is in ignition. Like this:
rn rnrelay: use a 30amp-40amp relay rn30 - battery - 20A fuse rn85 gnd rn87 to pump rn86 ig feed make sure its full12v when starter motor is cranking rn rnDo I wire in another 5 amp fuse between the 87 and the fuel pump, or can I change that 20 amp to a 5 amp fuse from the battery?rn |
