High Idle After Engine Swap ?
Hey guys I got a ?, a friend of mine has a Nissan 240 SX pretty sure it is a 92 or 94 but it has the s13 motor in it, when he bought the car the engine was out because it was blown, prolly head gasket, and he put another s13 in everything is connected "after a few days" and we finally started it up and it runs great moves back and forth "MANUAL TRANNY" so hes happy but i know the timming cant be right and it idles at 2 grand, so whats going on after a while it starts to idle a bit lower but not much? In the last cylinder closest to rear you can hear a clicking, "click, click, click" sounds like maybe valv is stickign a bit ? who knows but i was wodnering why the idle was so high ?

RE: High Idle After Engine Swap ?
check to see if your throttle cable is caught up on somthing or is too tight it has to have no kinks in it and has to have some play. try that clicking noise and tell me if its from the engine (internal) or if its coming from a electronic solenoid or valvle of somesort.
