Should I?

RE: Should I?
well, yeah. but in sacramento, our winters are just rain. its not like i have snow to deal with, so its not all that bad. but i would like to save a few miles on my b18, since it cost me over 3x what they are asking for the 240. im going to go look at it today if its still there, and maybe drive it and see how well it runs. and maybe see how low they will go. i need to check insurance and everything first. but with the miles it will save on the other cars on our policy, it probably wont be too bad.

well damnit. i went to test drive it today, and it was sold. oh well. I am just going to start hoarding money and if something comes up again, ill jump on it. or ill buy a house. either way, ill be glad I have the money. im pretty set on a Nissan as a second car though. either that or an old rx-7 (not sure about needing to learn all about rotories though) and an AE86. yeah, I watch way too much InitialD.

RE: Should I?
i recently did some reading about rotaries, and it was very interesting...quick story about RX7s...
i had a roommate in college who LOVED rx7s..he wasnt a car guy, but he had rx7 pictures and posters all over his room....he swore that, although he had never owned a car, and had rarely driven, that when he graduated, he would have his rx7. we both graduated in 2002, and about 2 weeks later he emailed me with pics of his new, 1987 rx7...this was non-turbo, and pre-refresh, so it had a stock 145 bhp...it was an automatic...he was so excited...now, i didnt care much for him as a roommate or as a person, but i was amused to see him SO happy with this car. It was really very nice...he got it with the lr corner wrecked, and did some work to it, and had it painted, and it was very nice, inside and out. he soon found that it was not fast, and it didnt get very good mileage...he soon grew to hate it...but he kept it nice, and put it online, and some guy came from halfway across the country to get this car, and he sold it to him...a short while later, dan emailed me again, this time with pictures of his new, fully built metallic blue 95 13B-REW rx7...it was very nice, very fast, and very tempermental...and finding replacement parts, especially performance stuff was a nightmare...
the point of that story, you ask? well there isnt one. haha
but seriously, the wankel rotaries are very interesting in their operation, and if you get one, dont get an NA model.

RE: Should I?
oh I love rotories. and i know a lot about them, but i know way more about normal reciprocating engines. i just dont want to have to learn everything all over again. and even though its not expensive, i dont really look forward to pulling the motor every few months to put in new apex seals. (I beat the hell out of my cars.) but, all that said, if i come up on a clean turboII for a good price, im going to jump on it.
