[X(] Hi there Z fantatics . I have a problem with a Nissan 1990 300ZX non turbo I just bought it non running had it tow home. The engine turns over great, I have fuel going to the engine but no spark. I swaped out the iginion modular with my other Z that didnt do any . I chek all my wiring to see if sonething was disconnected nothing there. Then i pulled the cover off to look at the ecu thats where I stop dont know if it"s that there very exspensive just cant replace that yet unless i have too/ So what do some of think it is ????

 

check your cam angle sensor without that your ignition wouldnt know when to fire spark its kind of like the rotor on the distributer setups but on a coil pack ignition system like what you have

 

i hope this isn't insulting to you but are you sure it didn't jump time.i had a 90 automatic that did the same thing and it fooled me because often when they jump time they will bend the valves but will still usual start or have a spark,but this one didn't,and the cam angle sensor wire got loose somehow on the twin turbo i have now and did the same thing.

 

but if it was out of time it still should have spark. does the car sound like it has compression when you try and start it? if not check your timing timing belt make sure its not snapped or jumped timing like dman300tt said
