Nissan 350Z / Fairlady The Z stood for the top line and Japanese performance in the 70s and 80s, and it has been nicely rekindled with this newest entry into the Z family.

Default 2003 350Z clutch/transmission problems

Hello all~ New to the forum but I just wanted to post a warning! The 350Z's, at least the 2003 and older models are subject to having clutch, flywheel and transmission problems. They also have the feathering/tire growl issue, grease streaks in the windows, and poor amplifiers in they're Bose sound systems. My clutch and flywheel went out at 17,000 miles leaving me stranded on the freeway. Nissan also leaves you stranded. They blame it on driver error. I've only treated my Z with respect, babied it and tried to preserve it. Only normal driving here, no tearing it up. Now, I had to absorb a $2300 repair and also have the 3rd gear tranny grind, synchros going out per Nissan admittedly. Yet, no assistance. I filed a complaint at www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems or call 1-888-327-4236. If anyone else has the same problem, file a complainttoo. This is where recalls come from. The more us that complain, the better. Nissan needs to fix this widespread problem. Google 350Z Nissan clutch problems or tranny grind and visit all the forums, we are not alone with these issues. Sorry for the bad press Nissan. NOT REALLY!
