2001 altima cranks not continuously
Hi everyone,
I am new in the forum so here it is my post. I was driving my car (2001 altima gxe, 147K) and suddenly i felt like a pull backwards. I know the drivers axle was not working properly so i assumed it was that. when i was pulling over to the shoulder the car turn off. i was skeptical because it should not have done that. At the time i did not pay attention to that. Now i change the axle and the car does not turn on. the battery works, I have some gas (it is low but the light has not went off yet), there is spark to the spark plugs. The problem is that the car does not crank continuously. it cranks twice and then it stops cranking. then i try again it cranks three time and then dies even when the key is in the cranking position. there was two times that it crank couple times and then it made a noise of backfire but the car never turn on. i open the oil cap and crank the car, i can see the shaft moving when it cranks.
Please help me to find why it is not working
