alternator getting super hot help!!
I have a 98 altima. the battery recently died and noticed the alternator was smoking and getting really hot. i replaced the alternator and charged the battery and the it was fixed at first. but then again i started the car cold and the alternator gets too hot to touch within 1 minute. and smells kinda funny. i tested the battery and its still a good battery and it has a full charge so i know thats not the problem. i replaced the negative battery terminal cuz the old one wouldnt tighten on the battery but that still didnt fix anything. i also noticed that when this first happened a noise appeared like a clicking sound coming from the left side of the valve cover a little down where the other pullies would be. But i have no idea what to do or what is causing the alternator to do this. does anyone know what might be wrong in need of desperate help. here some pictures to make sure everythings wired right i just copied the old one.
