Default Alternator problem, too big for racing header

i have a 1998 nissan altima, i took out the alternator to install an aftermarket exhaust manifold, when i tried to put the alternator back in, it was too big, it rubs against the header and the belt wont go on, i was wondering if there is a replacment alternator that may be smaller in physical size but has the same power output, has anyone installed an obx header an had the same problem?

there is no way to shim the alt out of the way at all? have you tried contacting the company who made/sold you the header?
