SR20 in a 94 Altima
I have a 1994 Altima and I've always had dreams of putting an SR20DET in it and switching the drivetrain to RWD. Has anyone heard of anyone doing this? Is it possible to swith the drivetrain? Would the SR20 work with an Altima if the drivetrain was changed? Please help because I need answers. Thanks

ok, a few quick answers and then i'll try and give some details.
first off yes it is possible to put an sr20 into an altima, and yes you would have to change the drivetrain, but rwd is not the only option
jdm factory makes basically a turbo altima with an sr20 in it. its an atessa aka "bluebird" but its drivetrain is AWD!! the engine, drivetrain, and some minor body changes it what seperates it from the altima
I thought about doing this with my altima but its getting old and id have to put too much money into it for it to be reliable.
anywho in order for this to work you'd have to get the sr20 motor...preferably the front clip. then youd get ahold of a tranny from a pulsar gtir and then of course change the drive train. i didn't get that far in my research but its not like this is that unique...unfortunatly for you. for the one of a kind part. you should be able to find the parts you for the drivetrain from the bluebird..and i guess you probably could get everything from it but you will need the pulsar tranny.
good luck.
