Default water temp sensor

I want some advice before i go and buy this sensor. Does the water temp sensor control or have anything to do with the temp gauge? Mine just sits on cold and never moves. Everything else is the dashboard moves. This is for a 1995 NIssan Altima

The temp sensor on the intake manifold doesn't control the gauge... but there is one of the back of the passenger side of the motor that does.

The picture won't display for me bro... I can tell you that the part number listed is incorrect.... it's not an oem part number... it would only be 10 digits and start with 25080.

Try that link below. It sits on the passenger side, behind/right under the engine vavle pan cover?

also do you know, the time limit on the timing chain? a estimate on how long it normally will last? I've become a mechanic now.

The one from ebay was correct....timing chain usually last 100k or more.... basically needs to be replaced when it starts to make noise.
