STEERING DEFECT IN 2006 SE CCab
My new 2006 Frontier has 3000miles. Last week the steering went out on it while I was driving it. When I called the dealer they said they were aware of the problem and towed it in. The dealer also told me that they have had 4 06's with the same problem in just 30 days. If you have have this model Frontier you should be very concerned, because Nissan Corp is as of yet not issued a recall and as far as I am concerned is not acknowleging that there is even a problem. Now I 'am certianlly no Rocket Scientist, but 4 at the same dealer in thirty days seems like a BIG PROBLEM too me! The dealer Service Manager also infromed me that Nissan used a low-bidder vendor/supplier for the defective part in question. A key indication that your 2006 has the problem is a wobblly steering wheel with times of the powersteering going in and out. I'm not trying to be an alarmist, but since Nissan isn't getting the word out on this problem I feel like I should. BTW, this a warranty issue and the dealer did pay for a rental, as this is my only car. Nissan Corp has also refused to pay for the "Rental Car Insurance"... I will buy Toyota after this truck is paid for..

Well Nissan has shown it's true colors again.. They are refusing to pay the Rental Car Insurance. So lets recap.
New Nissan Frontier Crew Cab $20,000
@ 3000 Miles Steering Column Breaks, Nissan denies there is a problem and jacks me for 150.00.
Nissan, after jacking me for the 150.00 tells me what a valued customer I 'am.
THIS FOLKS IS OUR NISSAN
I see many lawsuits in Nissan's future....

I'm very sorry to hear about your truck. You're right.....Nissan corp. sucks. If I were you I'd trade it off now. I fought for 6 1/2 months and got nowhere but deeper into depression over it. And it cost me alot of money to try and fight them. The BBB Autoline was a pile of #$%^& too. However, if you want to go that route, the number should be in your booklet that you received with you truck. It will tell you all about the "Lemon Law" too.
Like I said....I would trade it off. It may save you in the long run.
