Default Micra electrics. Puzzling !

Hi
Ive recently been having probs with Micras main beam. Headlights work OK, Main beam very dim. Have fed bulb direct from battery, main beam OK. Earth and fuses check out OK. Using switch on the consul i'm getting a very faint main beam. I thought they either worked or they didn't. Why am I getting a dim main beam? Please help.
Regards
Martin

Hi Patrick
On your lights you get a dipped headlight and a main headlight with a dip switch usually on the stearing column. My dipped headlights are OK. For some reason and I can't see how it's possible I'm getting reduced power to the main headlight. When I take power direct from the battery they work OK. I'm thinking it might be the relay but why would the power be reduced. I've friends in the motor trade and nobody has seen it before.
Regards Martin

how long has it been doing this? it has to be something between the bulb and the power source....perhaps the switch?
