There is a cast iron plate glued to a steel plate that is screwed to the steering column under the air bag. The glue failed and the plate was rattling around whenever sterring wheel was turned. I removed the plate, but does this plate serve any functional purpose? Also, I had to remove the air bag to get to the plate. When I re-installed the air bag, the air bag dash light stays lit. Is there a way to re-set this?

 

take it back to the dealer so he can reset the computer becasue the computer thinks the air bags deployed....did you un hook the batt befor you did this?
