I bought my X-Trail new, at the dealership, and always had it serviced at the dealership at the appropriate intervals. About a year ago started having trouble with the A/C and, at the next service, asked for it to be checked. The service attendant immediately diagnosed a hose problem. The hose was changed but the problem continued until one day the vehicle shut down from overheating. Apparently there was nothing wrong with the A/C (nor the infamous hose) but it was a safety mechanism (I´m told) that the vehicle has that it shuts down the A/C compressor to lighten the load on the engine when overheating. Surprisingly the temperature indicator on the dashboard is not as sensitive to this as one would expect it to be. In the end it cost me a bundle on engine repairs (yes, the block & head had to rectified) from a bad diagnosis because the real problem was a radiator whose plastic innards had crumbled. This is my second NISSAN and others have bought NISSANs on my recommendation but I´m deeply dissappointed in the brand and the service and would like some satisfaction. Anyone knows where can I file a formal complaint at the NISSAN Corporation?
