1995 maxima problem
Ihave a 95 Maxima. I'm having trouble starting it. It seems to be the security system thats not allowing the car to start. My battery is good, cause all other power works just fine. SometimesI have to jiggle the steering wheel. Other timesI have to jiggle the gear shift. But mostly nothing works, andI just turn the key, all lights are on, but it doesnt start. Its not turning over. Any suggestions?

RE: 1995 maxima problem
- Steering wheel is mechanically connected to ign sw, possibly worn. Replace (worn sw is a potential fire hazard)
- Gear selector inhibit switch and/or its wiring may also have contact problems, check/correct. This and security system controls also inhibit relay which may be stuck intermittently. To troublershoot, swap places with it by some other relay (same color)
- starter soleneoid, its wiring may also be worn out...
- check this page5 & page10 &14 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/5

RE: 1995 maxima problem
check the most obvious first before checking all your switches. take a wrench or hammer anything and tap on the starter case a few good times and if it starts after this then your starter is bad. if it still doesnt turn over then test the starter to see if it spins when you use a jumper from the battery voltage to the s-terminal on the starter solenoid and if it does turn over then start looking at your ign switch and neutral saftey switch
