Default 2001 MAX Idle Control Air Valve

Talked with my local Nissian Dealer (parts man) Mentioned that the Idle air control valve should be bought OEM and also check engine lite is on, seems Nissian has to set the new Idle valve within spec's... should I just replaced it out and see what happen's ????? I found the part a little cheaper and do the labor myself???

The idle air control valve is not something that has to be reprogrammed... it's just replacing the part.

Seems the last owner did not mention to me about it was at the local Nissan dealer(March 07'), in which I went to to investigate the service history (via vin#) to the Service Manger about situation, he had told previous owner was told it possibly is a bad ECU board, I did notice the IACV looked a little new and heavy residue inside the air pleum, so this Friday it goes in Nissan to read deeper codes to this problem, around $90 bucs to see what the step really is???

That's not bad for a diag. fee....... atleast you won't be throwing money at the car and know exactly what's wrong.

Having the ECM board replaced on 1-10-08(Thursday) by local Nissan dealership, where is the ECM located, in the kick-panel??? want to mark it for reference, before it goes into service work part is about $775 and computer labor around $250. By the way,how good is the Induction Service Clean charge ($120) going to work out, does it clean out the throttle body pleum, has stated???

It's dead center under the dash in front of the center console, you should be able to get to it from the passenger side.

Had local Nissan changed out $775 for OEM and tuned to about $225, running good for far Has 12000 mile or 12 month warranty, end of problem(I pray) Starts up by the key . Later to Burnout
