Default 97 Maxima Loss Of Power & Acceleration

I have a 97 Maxima SE. Got it in May 05', now as 2nd owner. I have noticed this
particular maxima has loss of power and acceleration for some crazy reason.
Compared to others Ive driven this ones slow, but was the cleanest of them all
when I was searching. So I figured, Ahhh it needs a tune up or something! So,
I have replaced the plugs 3 months ago w/ NGK Iridiums. Oil is changed every
3k miles. Just did Tranny service 1 week ago. Still no gains. Something is wrong
someplace, I cant figure it out.

Today installed APEXI pop charger intake...Everyone else swears on BIG power gains.
Not yet, on this maxima.

Odometer reads 134k mi. Runs Great no major problems, just something missing
in the power and acceleration department.

So im sending an SOS, Any knowledgeable suggestions, ppl?

UPDATE 12/15/2005
------------------------
Engine light came on, had it scanned. It came back with

PO 105 MAP/BARO Sensor Circuit Problem

???????? Uh, whats that mean? Can someone lemme know what needs to be fixed, replaced, or asjusted?

Thanks

Esdsix

... loss of power...

Diagnostics first for all sensors. Buy/Lease/gotoshop - for runnin tester diagnostics - or read ECU codes uself. Check out http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/15, do check also 'Favorite Links' at top left.

Guessing: KS Knock Sensor will die b/c of age. Can be diagnosed with the tester, and/or may be bypassed with a 1c resistor. See page 9 for that... Old KS retards ignition 10-15 degrees, definite power loss

Whats the cost on that? Where can I get it cheap someplace?
Whats the MAF look like? Is that the black plastic part that has the sensor plugged in
on the intake?

Sorry to be newb about it!

Thanks Always Everyone. Just trying to narrow it down so that I may help someone
else who has the same problem

- IT "Is that the black plastic part that has the sensor plugged in on the intake."... ; 150-700$, try five reman's. First try cleanup. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/9 ...For The devices, procedures ---> click Favorite Links

- Pure pwr loss is quite probably dead Knock Sensor: Find that out with OBD -tester.

- Coilpacks wear out at that mileage, poor spark= poor pwr.

MAP SENSOR

I found it was the map sensor.. Thats what needs be replaced. Funny thing is, looking right at the original sensor itself
it says BOOST on it...Well that explains it. So, based on the code pulled from testing, thats the part that needs to be replaced.

In case anyone doesnt know where the map sensor is located, I had someone show me. Its the little black device sensor
attached on the wide black airflow port located just behind where you open the hood. It should be one of the first things you see. Its attached to the airflow port with 1 or two little bolts. You cant miss it. Right when you open the hood. Easy to
install ppl, so dont get ripped off, do it yourself. a couple bolts, a tiny hose, and a plug Look for BOOST written on the sensor itself.

So if your car is pulling EC P0105 Autozone has the map sensor part 97 Maxima $109.99
Part Number: SU4215 on of the other sensors was about $40 cheaper depending on the
month/yr the maxima was made. Check with autozone.

Thanks ppl. I hope this helps. Im pretty new at it msyelf.
